Congratulations Eduardo!!!

These are our first grade SOAR students!

Eduardo is our class' SOAR student for the month of August!! He has shown that he can follow our school rules and be a great example to other students! Way to go, Eduardo!!!!!

Congratulations to Shane Horne!! We just recieved the news that his media festival project was awarded SUPERIOR at the International Media Festival. Shane was in our class last year. *Thank you to all the parents that came to open house!! For those that were unable to attend, I will be posting the Open House Power Point. It will be listed at the top as it's own page.
*I have added www.arbookfind.com to my links page. This is the link that we discussed last night. You will be able to go on this sight and find out if a book has an AR test. You will also be able to use this sight to find out if there are any books at your child's reading level, within a certain interest level . This is a wonderful, useful tool!
*I have also posted sight word lists 1-8 on Spelling City.

Congratulations, Kaieem!!!! He anwered my question that I posted ealier on our blog. He corrected a sentence, using capital letters and punctuation! Great job!! He gets a treat today in class!!!

Part 2 of our Water Cycle experiment...We made it rain!!!!!

Progress Reports went home this afternoon! All of your child's assignments and grades are listed on this report. Please take a look at this, and discuss it with your child. Please tear off the top page, sign it, and return it to school by tomorrow. You may keep the grade report pages for your records.

Take a look at our Hundreds Chart!

All of the students should have a hundreds chart. We are using this to learn to count to 100. We are also using it to skip count by twos, threes, fives, and tens. We do all of this backwards and forwards!!!!!
Please make sure your child's chart is in a convenient place, and you are practicing often with them. If your child can not find theirs, please ask for another one. I will be happy to get you one.
